In addition to designing all of the characters and backgrounds in my short animations, I have art directed and designed the sets for several short live-action films.
This vibrant miniature set was constructed by myself and Samantha McElhaney for a finger puppet video short called The Rainbow Garden. The original set was built using recycled cardboard, foam for the flowers, and real bark and other bits of nature for the tree and the gnome's hut.
Mirror Mirror

For my senior thesis Mirror Mirror, two sets were built in NYU's Todman soundstage, the bathroom and the hospital. These constructed sets allowed for easier set up of the special effect lighting and two way mirrors that were used throughout the film.
A Return to Shallot

In my first soundstage production, we built the Lady of Shallot's tower room in front of NYU's bluescreen on the Todman soundstage. The bluescreen was keyed out in post and stock footage was used to create the views from the tower's window.
